All I want to do is lessen the burden of my tuition on my parents.

Thanks for the information. there is a problem though with some lutheran scholarships. Using the ones you posted, the St John Lutheran scholarship is only for members of the particular St John Church. The Siebert Lutheran Foundation specifically states not for scholarships. But I that hasn't stopped me from looking into it a little more.

I do qualify for the Pell grant and I have applied for scholarship through my district. I included that in that $10,000 that I'm already getting.

All I want to do is lessen the burden of my tuition on my parents.

I an the oldest in a lower income family.  I attend Concordia University in Seward, NE.  My family moved two years ago.  My dad owns his own business, and since the move he has not been successful in establishing his business.  My mom has taken a pay cut of over half of what she was making.  Our family income, which was up over $40,000 is now less than $20,000.  Because of this drastic difference, my family is having trouble paying bills let alone, a child in college.
Concordia University is a private Christian (LCMS) school and with being a private school. the tuition is much more expensive.  Choosing to attend CUNE, was one of the greatest decisions of my life.  My parents are trying their best to support me, but because of my college choices, it is difficult.  All I would like to do is lessen the burden of my tuition on my parents.
I get a little financial aid from my school, but it is not near enough to close the gap we have to pay.  We filled out the FAFSA and it said that we could afford less than $500.00 to my higher education.  My school's tuition/room/board is just under $23,000.00.  I have received, at the most, $10,000.00 in scholarships, loans, and grants.  That leaves at least $12,500 difference that my family has to come up with each year so that I can continue my education.
I plan to become a teacher.
I want to become certified as a Lutheran teacher (that is why I chose CUNE). I am double-emphasizing within my education major.  Double-emphasizing means that I can teach more than one thing within the elementary school system.  My first emphasis is Physical Education (PE) and my second is Early Childhood Education.  Both areas are in need of teachers.
